While Clearent by Xplor had successfully provided payment services for over a decade, the brand remained relatively unknown. To increase its revenue, it desired to work with more SaaS providers. I was tasked with launching a comprehensive brand strategy to position the brand better and drive awareness and engagement with this target audience.

My challenge was better positioning Clearent’s offering to SaaS providers and creating a comprehensive marketing strategy to deliver the message to key stakeholders.

As a relatively small boutique provider, effectively communicate Clearent’s commitment and unique ability to deliver customized payment services that SaaS providers could monetize while delivering better 24/7 live support to their customers. My efforts included:
Research: Partnering with the executive sales, partner, and customer success teams to collaboratively perform a deep 360° market analysis to understand the competitive landscape.
Branding: Positioning Clearent has an expert and true partner SaaS providers could trust with new brand messaging.
Strategy: Delivering brand messaging consistently where key stakeholders go get industry information and explore new vendor relationships, including industry associations, publications, social media, and trade events.
Marketing: Developing and executing an effective content strategy, organic social strategy, and co-marketing with trade associations.
Enablement: Creating one-pagers, sales presentations, and brochures, empowering the sales team to deliver a unified message to the market.

Clearent was able to drive awareness and engagement with the SaaS providers it desired to work with, increasing leads by 20% and achieving its stretch goal of increasing revenue by 13%.
